Gekko gecko - Tokay Gecko
Macro of a Tokay Gecko's Eye
7/24/05 indoor aquarium shot - GPC, Gaithersburg MD
Maybe it's a common picture because of the beauty of the lizard, but it's difficult to get that close to them. Yes, he is gaping his mouth at me, trying to destroy my being. Or something. I just liked the high detail that came out from the picture.
I would have changed the perspective to a bit angled to the right, and put the eye closer to the right side, so you could get a perspective of the eye, and the lizards length, or body; and a border would top it off.
This is an excellent eye-study macro. The details are just splendid! And I do love the ominous open mouth! But damn... look at that eye. It's just gorgeous. No other word for it!
Fantastic macro ~ beautiful subject ~ and a gorgeous capture!

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
